DANNY NAVAR

Danny Navar began competitive powerlifting in the summer of ’07; however has enjoyed a passion for resistance training for nearly all his life. Danny, being influenced by his older brother, began basic body weight exercises such as pushups and sit-ups as early as kindergarten. He started lifting weights in his living room at the age of seven, learning from a resistance training manual.


Since this time, Danny has Olympic lifting and powerlifting experience; while also having participated in football, wrestling, and mixed martial arts. His most notable powerlifting achievement occurred at the 2008 USAPL RAW Nationals where he placed 5th in the 148 lb weight division. Danny placed first in the Brother Bennett 2009 Memorial in the 165 lb division with a total of 1070 lbs.

Danny is currently working as a personal trainer in both the New Orleans and the Baton Rouge area. In addition to being certified by National Exercise and Sports Trainers Association (NESTA) and Aerobics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA), he received his Master’s of Science Degree at LSU Health Sciences Center investigating the neural mechanisms regulating overeating. When he’s not working out; he enjoys outdoor activities, watching sports, beer brewing, relaxing and recovering, and spending time with friends.
